Have You Registered Yet?

Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him Hebrews 11:6

Good Morning, I hope everyone had a good nights sleep and is ready to tackle a new day... whatever may be coming your way today... embrace it, give God the glory, and love on your kiddo's. Here is a random thought for today, give someone you really care alot about, but have not spoken to them lately, a call and tell them hello!

The time is here for registration for the St Jude Marathon. For those not familiar with it, it takes place this year on December 5 2009. I know that seems like forever away, however it is time to get registered for it. No, you don't have to do a 26 mile marathon to participate... but you can if you want to!!! This event has a 5K (3.? miles), a Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and the full 26.2 mile Marathon. It's your choice. Time to get registered and start raising money!

As you know, our child that we will be honoring by run/walking is Mary Kate Rushing. When we first ask her if we could honor her, she was so excited. She worked on designing the design for our team shirt for this year. The design is ready and I will be getting it from Regina this weekend. Mary Kate was so excited about all of this, we are truly heartbroken that she lost her battle to Leukemia recently and will not be here with us but we know she will be protecting us and cheering us on with her team in heaven. Mary Kate's mom and sister have already registered and are ready for the big fun I promised them that Team Believe would give them. This year it will be such an honor to show Regina and Alyson how much Mary Kate is loved. Regina is a competitor, she has already been on the fundraising trail. She knows exactly how important it is to get this money raised for St Jude... the challenge is on, who will top Regina in this race to raise funds? We might just have to have a special door prize at the dinner for this category this year! GET REGISTERED AND GET STARTED!

I know that most of you are a long way away from Memphis but I did want to share a portion of an email I received from Christopher Beck yesterday. He ask me to share with you, you are all invited to join in this event if you can make it. He has ask me to speak at this reception, and I have gladly accepted the opportunity to do so. I will be talking about our team and why we do what we do. Why you guys fly in or drive from all over the states to be here for this. Why a young college student will be flying in for her third year all the way from New York! We love you and appreciate you Marcella!! Natalie Cravens will also be speaking from the perspective of a St Jude patient and a Hero's participant. This should be a very nice and informative event if any of you can attend it.

Dear 2008 Hero,
Thank you again for all your hard work and training in 2008! The Heroes program raised over $1.8 million for the kids at St. Jude; you truly are a Hero to our kids. It may seem early, but registration for the 2009 St. Jude Marathon, Half Marathon and Grizzlies House 5K opens May 1, 2009. I hope you will consider being a Hero again this year.

The first ever Heroes kick-off event is in the works and we want you to be a part of the excitement! The reception will be held in Memphis on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Holiday Inn Express by the University Of Memphis, from 6:30 pm- 8:00 pm. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to Christopher Beck or Brenna O’Malley by May 22, 2009. At the reception we will cover a wide range of topic:

New St. Jude information
Session on how to navigate the Heroes site
The advantages of forming teams
General Q&A session
Patient Speaker
And more
Being a Hero for the children at St. Jude means more than running a race; it means helping over 5,100 children who are currently seeking treatment at St. Jude. These children are our Heroes-find the Hero in you! It costs more than $1.4 million a day to keep the hospital running and your involvement makes our life saving work possible.

Thank you again for all you do and we hope to see you in June!
